Our greatest strength is you...
NRM stands for natural resources management - it describes how collectively we look after the environment that we rely on for our prosperity, productivity and enjoyment.
The South East Natural Resources Management (SE NRM) Board is a group of community, state and local government members who make decisions about regional investment in NRM. The staff of the SE NRM Board implement the strategic direction set out in the regional NRM plan.
The SE NRM Board was established in May 2005 and is responsible for the natural resources of an area that covers approximately 28,000 square kilometres bounded by the Victorian border to the east, the Southern Ocean to the south and the Coorong to the West.
The SE NRM Board plays an active role in the management of the region's soil, pest plants and animals, water, ecosystems, coast and marine environments. It is also about individuals, communities and industries caring for their own environment - finding a social, economic and environmental balance now and into the long term future.
Natural Resource Management projects are currently being undertaken all over the South East region, so keep exploring and visiting this website to find out what's happening in your local area.
