Enhancing soil health project

The South East region of South Australia is well known for its prime agricultural production which is largely due to the presence of fertile and productive soils. However, degradation of soil health in relation to erosion, acidification and reduced levels of soil carbon has been documented in parts of the region.

It is considered that improving soil health can be achieved by improving land management practices, and this is the focus of The South East Natural Resources Management Board’s project, Enhancing Soil Health in the South East of South Australia.

This project is aimed at enhancing soil health by increasing the skills and knowledge of landholders to address soil degradation issues related to erosion, acidification and soil carbon content in identified high priority areas in the South East region.

Please spend some time reading about the project overview, demo farms and other information located in the left hand navigation pane.
