Northern NRM Group

NRM Groups have very important roles and responsibilities in the continued and appropriate management of our precious natural resources. They are a vital link between communities and the SE NRM Board. The Groups support and contribute to the Board’s activities and ensure a consistent and integrated approach is achieved.

The Northern NRM Group spreads from the Coast to the Victorian border. It runs from the Northern Kingston and Naracoorte Lucindale Council boundaries to the SE NRM region boundary (catchment boundary). It includes Tatiara District Council, most of the Coorong District Council and a smaller portion of the Southern Mallee District Council.  Left - the original Northern NRM Group members.

Graham Kaye - Chairperson
Graham is the manager of a large vineyard at Padthaway and serves as the president of the Padthaway Grape Growers Association. His time serving on the South East Catchment Water Management Board, as chair of the NRM Irrigation Efficiency Committee and on the Limestone Coast Wine Industry Council’s Water Resources Committee is evidence of his dedication to appropriate natural resource management.

Gordon Stopp
Gordon is a successful landholder in the Keith region, involving cropping, sheep grazing and dryland Lucerne for seed and grazing. He is an active and dedicated member of the South Australian Farmers Federation and was also a member of the former Coorong Districts Soil Conservation Board. He has a wealth of experience in dealing with dryland salinity and currently serves on the Coorong LAP committee.

Judy Zacker
Judy is involved in a primary production business that includes sheep grazing and cropping as well as contract harvesting. Her community spirit and concern for her environment is demonstrated by her involvement in the Coorong Local Action Plan and the Tintinara-Coonalpyn Land and Water Management Planning Committee. Judy is currently managing a block of land to enhance biodiversity purposes.

Tracey Strugnell
Tracey serves as a member of the Tintinara Coonalpyn Land and Water Management Planning Committee. She has noteworthy experience gained from working as a Saltland Agronomist and Small Farms Adviser with Soil Conservation Boards and as a Land Management/Revegetation Consultant. Currently she is involved in a small business gardening for residents of Tintinara.
