The South East Natural Resources Management (SE NRM) Board links to their unique communities via three newly established natural resource management groups. The Southern, Central and Northern Groups were established along geographical local government areas covering the South East, or Limestone Coast Zone, of South Australia.
The whole region will benefit from the establishment of these NRM Groups, as they facilitate information and knowledge transfer about their particular areas directly to the Board. Likewise they can keep their local communities informed about NRM management in their area. They will assist the Board by monitoring, coordinating and undertaking specific functions involved in the implementation and development of regional NRM programs and plans. This two-way information transfer allows for a consistent strategic approach for the region as a whole.
NRM Group members reside within their geographic group area and are quite often engaged in activities relating to land management. They have a demonstrated understanding of the NRM issues peculiar to their particular area. They also possess appropriate skills, knowledge and experience, which add value to the Boards activities.
