The South East Natural Resources Management (NRM) Board is pleased to present the Concept Statement for the South East NRM Plan. This Concept Statement is a formal statement of intent as the Board commences the task to create an integrated and innovative plan for natural resources of the South East.
When completed, the South East NRM Plan will set out the vision for the management of our region’s soil and water, landscapes, seascapes and biodiversity. Importantly, the plan will detail the action needed to achieve that vision – action not only by the Board, but by communities, industry and everyone in the region. The South East NRM Board is committed to protecting the natural values of the Region, while promoting a strong regional economy. In this, the Board recognises the intrinsic link between the well-being of our natural resources, and the region’s long term economic and social future.
A Regional NRM Plan is needed to co-ordinate priority action across the South East to see our natural assets managed for sustainability and the benefit of everyone in the Region. The process to develop the NRM Plan has been designed to create opportunities for innovative thinking, accessing the best science, and involving the right people to contribute to plan development.
