Description of control services offered to landholders
The SE NRM Board offers a comprehensive range of declared animal and plant control services. The provision of many of the services has resulted from gaps in local markets which need to be filled in order to achieve the required level of implementation of animal and plant control activities. In the case of vertebrate pest bait supply, the Operations staff within the SE NRM Board are the only authorised distributors of poison bait for fox and rabbit control. As such, we have no competitors and see these activities as core business rather than strictly cost recovery.
The range of services offered by the Operations Team in the South East consists of :
Boom spraying - Small acre, low volume chemical application for declared plant control
High volume spraying - Hand lining and spot spraying for declared plant control
Mechanical weed control - Grubbing, cut and swabbing, burning of declared plants
Vertebrate pest bait laying - Rabbit bait trailing, laying fox baits
Vertebrate pest bait supply - Preparation and sale of baits for declared vertebrate pests
Equipment hire - Hire to landholders of fumigators, baitlayers, live animal traps
